Gordon Korman
Gordon Korman was born in Montreal, Quebec in Canada on October 23, 1963. He wrote his first book when he was 12. As a boy, Korman got his inspiration from his teachers. In his first book, his main character was based on his 7th grade P.E. teacher. Korman soon decided to move to New York. He went to college to study film and film writing. There he met and eventually married his wife. They now live on Long Island, New York with their three children. Since starting his career in writing books, Korman has written 55 books and continues to write more. Some of Korman's favorite authors include Jerry Spinelli, Cris Crutcher, and Kurt Vonnegut. To represent his books, he travels over 400,000 miles each year. While Korman tries to work on a daily basis, he usually works late at night. Even when he is working, he always makes time for family.
